Collection: Café Machin 🇫🇷

Before founding Café Machin in Nantes in 2022, François Di Dio spent nearly seven years in marketing at leboncoin. He now roasts coffees from South America and East Africa with a simple credo: "Make coffee good, and good coffee accessible."

Café Machin is a name that does not take itself seriously, running against the often solemn vocabulary of specialty coffee. Behind it is François Di Dio, a former real estate marketing director at leboncoin, who set up his roastery in Nantes at the end of 2022 and launched it in early 2023. His manifesto fits in one sentence: "Make coffee good and good coffee accessible."

A Roastery in Doulon

The roastery is at 211 route de Sainte-Luce, in the Doulon district. François roasts a selection of coffees that rotates with the harvests, all scored above 82 points on the Specialty Coffee Association scale and bought through short supply chains, outside the commodity markets. He also offers a service for businesses, with monthly delivery and a coffee machine sold or loaned. His coffees are stocked by resellers in Nantes, Angers, Lyon, Marseille and Nice.

One Coffee, One Artist

Each coffee has its own illustration, entrusted to a different artist: Elsa Dray-Farges, Atelier Bingo and Geoffroy Pithon, among others. The graphic design is by Atelier Choque Le Goff, and François photographs some of his coffees himself. In 2023, the podcast "Ce moment-là", produced by leboncoin, devoted an episode to him: "From marketing director to roaster".
